Algerian professor Noureddine Melikechi, a NASA physicist, announced that three areas on the planet Mars have been named after locations in Algeria: Tassili N'Ajjer, Djurdjura, and Ghoufi. This is his way of "thanking Algeria, its education system, and its people."
