Wine Recommendations for a Newbie

Hi! I’m a newbie to the wine world and wanted to host an at-home wine tasting for my birthday. I’m looking for 7-10 wines that cover all types (white/red/orange/green/rose/sparkling).

Do you have any recommendations of good, not generic wines? My price point is under $40 cad per bottle!

The attendees are all young professionals who also know very little about wine! Thank you for the advice!
