Gatekeeping active bands

(I know this subreddit hates the clock app (understandably)so this is just a little rant and open for discussion) I’ve noticed a trend on tiktok where these pretentious “fans” gatekeep active bands with all the strength that they have, since they are so paranoid about vkei being the next trend or it’ll be mainstream (It never will be.) The issue with this is they are essentially trying to sabotage these bands they proclaim to be fans of. Gatekeeping active bands is what makes them disband a good fraction of the time because they make little to nothing and get no attention for the art they put so much passion into. Me personally I don’t consider these people fans because would you not what to them ever succeed their goals? It’s hurting vkei as a genre aswell, with bands disbanding left and right and it closes the little bits of hope these bands have of ever being able to be recognised for what they are.

I could go on and on but I want to hear what everyone else think of this subject.
