Is a checking account not eligible for autopay discount?

Just spoke to a rep about my autopay not working even though I am using a checking account. Bank account number and routing number is showing up in my Verizon methods of payment. However, the rep says that a checking account does not qualify for the discount? Literally says: "Important: You must use a bank account or Verizon Visa Card as your Auto Pay payment method*" on their FAQ page.

Rep said "Accepted payment methods (through a checking or savings account) that provide the autopay Discount:

-The Verizon Visa Card

-Verizon Business Mastercard

-Homebanking(not quite sure what the heck this means)

-Automated Clearing House(ACH)

Do I need to do anything on my end to make sure that my checking account falls under homebanking or ACH? I am with Wells Fargo. Verizon is being incredibly frustrating with their nitpicky autopay requirements. Thanks in advance for any clarification and help.
