Veganism is the reason why I don't think humans are inherently good.
Everyone likes to argue over what political system is best, but the truth is they all suck for the same reason: people suck. They're selfish. The most perfect system will still be corrupted immediately by the dream of a ridiculous man.
How can you put people in charge that are given power and wealth and control, yet expect them to go against what's in their interest, and help those that can't do something for them? Those that are beneath them?
It's quite clear humans can not only survive, but thrive by not consuming animals. It would reduce a ton of our pollutants and make our earth greener, sure, but the biggest thing is that it would end suffering of those "beneath us".
Yet the vast vast majority can't even do that. The hypocrisy is so palpable it's hard not to choke on it.
They post on Reddit how we need to eat the rich because they're selfish and don't want to help others.
They protest for equality.
Yet, it's quite clear all of these people would do the same shit the ultra rich and powerful are doing right now, given the chance. I mean, they have the chance right now, but they choose every day to not care.
It's not knowledge they are missing, for they know but avoid learning more. It's not logic they are missing, for they will fight every logical argument. It is and always will be selfishness. Thousands of wars before and a thousand more to come. History repeats ad nauseam.
I commend you all for becoming something greater than our nature.
