Going against E1 as S1 is frustrating

In what world should a silver go up against an emerald? I know that WT badges just show up much you play the game but if you're emerald with 2 months left to get it I don't think you just play the game a lot you might actually even be above average. I think they should make it like ranked where silvers can go up against bronze and golds. So like 1 division above and below you.
