I find it interesting how America has gone through phases in which the Presidents typically hail from the same state or region.

For example early on we had a number of Presidents from Virginia.

Then we had a batch come from Ohio.

After that it was New Yorkers with the Roosevelts and even Wilson to an extent since he was in New Jersey.

There was sort of a phase on the left of folks from Massachusetts with the Kennedys and Dukakis (even though he didn't win).

After that Presidents started coming from all over. I just find it interesting how many were from the same place and were elected fairly close to one another.
