When you factor is the salary, Minkah's season can only be classified as "bad."
3rd highest paid Safety in the league on the highest paid defense in the NFL. Hasn't had an interception in 2 years. Being outperformed by DeShon Elliott in almost every category applicable to Safeties, while Elliott is a fraction of the cost. 71st at his position this year.
We can't just keep saying "his impact doesn't show up on the stat sheet" forever. He's been a step behind all year. It's his worst statistical year ever (including college) in pass coverage. Hes getting beat by TEs. We pay him to make plays and he simply hasn't. He is being outperformed by people at his position who make pennies on the dollar comparatively to Minkah.
He is still a good player, don't get it twisted. But we don't pay him to be good, we pay him to be a difference maker. Good players get paid good salaries, not 3rd highest in position salaries. We are way overpaying for his current level of play. For comparison, we pay TJ Watt to be a difference maker, and he probably single-handedly wins us atleast 2 games a year. He is the 3rd highest-paid EDGE player. I can't remember the last time Minkah has been the deciding factor in a game. Probably got to go back to 2021.
