Does anyone else still like Dae-ho despite him running from combat? I mean it sucks but I hope the plot allows him redepmtion.
This scene reminds me of when Upham in Saving Private Ryan, failed to go in and intervene while his comrades were getting killed in that room. As the German soldier in that scene walked past Upham, he did nothing.
Honestly, I was wondering why he wasn't as competent in combat being that he was in the ROKMC. But then I figured he may not have seen combat and this would be an understandable reaction, Marine or not. Or, it could be he was in combat, and was traumatized by a particular incident like his unit getting wiped out or something.
All in all, everyone is a badass behind a computer screen. However, when a time comes where people are shooting at you and youve got to kill someone, there's just no telling what a human being is going to do. There are countless instances of professionals be they cops or military personnel, freezing up and having panic responses.
Like, go to a boxing gym for example when you've never boxed in your entire life. I promise you, once people start sparring, there's no telling what other people's reaction is. Some throw hands, others move around, and some freeze up.
Anyway, I feel like he's a redeemable character and wouldn't want him to go the way that Ali did.
