Favourite creative episode format?
What’s your favourite creative or outside-the-box thematics in any sitcom that breaks the boundaries of its regular format? I’m curious what your personal favourite is or if you even want to list any that you maybe dislike but though was still well executed (or even any that you don’t like at all). Here’s my two, for starters:
I don’t as taken by surprise when Parks & Rec introduced this episode of “The Johnny Karate Super Awesome Musical Explosion Show” and presented it as if we were watching the program itself. A very creative use of the P&R characters inside the Johnny Karate program itself and plausible as Andy would want to include his friends in the program. I felt quite immersed watching this episode.
As a lover of old movies, I had a happy smile the whole time and watching “The Janitor Always Mops Twice” from It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia. They really payed an awesome homage to Noir Detective films from the 1930s-50s era, while also flawlessly mixing in the crass and low-brow humour of IASIP that the fans well and truly know. Had a smile and fit of laughter throughout the whole way viewing this episode.
What about yours? Keen to hear any and all thoughts :)
