Has anyone been part of COE/IOT projects? If so,do they really help during placements by giving an edge over others? Or are we better off even without getting involved in them considering the time constraint?

Is it better to work on my own projects or get involved in IOT projects from clg side? Considering, I just have 6 months for placements preparation.
