How early do you guys book accommodation for long trips?

Hi all,

I’ve posted about my upcoming roadtrip on here a while back, but we are moving from Boston,MA to Las Vegas,NV at the end of the year (we’d like to start our drive right after Christmas). I’ve decided I would like to avoid I-80 and the Denver area around that time so I am going to drive through the southern part of the US. With that said, how early are you guys booking hotels? I would like to do about 500-750 miles a day, and I will be the only driver as I’ll have a passenger princess lol. But we will be using credit card points to book accom so we want to book early to get good deals but I was just curious as to how y’all do it!
