How does GNX fit in the Kendrick Lamar theory?

[CROSSPOST FROM r/KendrickLamar]

If you're unfamiliar with the Radiohead/Kendrick Theory, it's the idea that each release from both sides is connected thematically. Pablo Honey with Overly Dedicated, The Bends with Section.80, Ok Computer with good kid, m.A.A.d city, Kid A with To Pimp A Butterfly, Amnesiac with untitled unmastered., Hail to the Thief with DAMN., and In Rainbows with Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers.

But with the release of GNX, I'm curious as to what people think the connection is between it and The King of Limbs. Some ideas I've been throwing around include the a change of style for both sides, becoming more focused on production rather than lyrics. Most of King of Limbs is instrumental, and the lyrics that come with are very bare bones. The only lyrics we get on the fourth track "Feral" is "You're not mine/I'm not yours/It's all fine/Please don't judge, judge". And the first track off GNX, "wacced out murals", Kendrick says to the listener "This is not for lyricists, I swear it's not the sentiments/Fuck a double entendre, I want y'all to feel this shit". Also both albums were surprise releases. The King of Limbs was announced four days before it's release on February 18th, 2011. While GNX was announced 30 minutes before it's release on November 22, 2024.

What do you guys think?
