Some datamined files make me feel like whole Astarion's backstory was rewritten

Stumbled across this description while going through datamined files of the current game's version:

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the idea that he sometimes was ordered by Cazador to kill someone, but here it is worded so that it makes it look like it was his main "profession", instead of, you know, luring people to Cazador through sex. I really can't understand what Larian was going for and how they imagined Astarion's backstory. If it was really not a rare occurrence for him to kill by Cazador's orders then why he never talks about it? He really makes it look like he was only luring people, he has multiple lines about it: "The whole reason for my existence was to seduce everything with a pulse", "I could have lived eternally in Cazador's pleasure chambers", "Quite a deviation from my usual rutine, of course: capture, not lure", etc, etc.

Also, Astarion LOVES killing. And I can't imagine him really loving something that Cazador forced him to do - he can pretend he loves sex, but it doesn't last long. I also very much doubt that such sadist like Cazador would have ever allowed Astarion to do something he truly loves. So we can assume he was just randomly killing people without Cazador's orders for lulz? But it's also hard to imagine that he had time and freedom for this and/or Cazador never found out? Lae'Zel, at least, tells us a story how she once killed her cousin. With Astarion - it's just... nothing about him being a killer in the past.

Maybe I am overthinking this, it's just that I can't really shake this cognitive dissonance off. I feel like Larian should have elaborated on his murderous past for it to feel more organic.
