Thoughts on Lilly leaving Nebby? (+ My newly formed interpretation of it :3)
(I'm sorry for my horrible punctuation, I'm not a native English speaker) Oki so, I didn't understand why Lilly left Nebby with the protagonist at all, to me and many people it just seemed like an artificial way to leave Nebby with the player, until I played the story for the first time and it hit me, Lilly leaving Nebby with the protagonist is a parallel to her relationship with Lusamine and how she evolved to be different than her mother, she recognized Nebby's will to travel and see the world and recognized she couldn't provide it, so she chose to leave Nebby with someone who could so it would be happy, she experienced the ache of family control first hand and did the opposite to her mother, she let Nebby be free to live it's life the way it wants even if it's not with her, she still loves it but it's because of her love she left it. Sorry if it's just the obvious or if I'm overlooking it too far, I just really like this little interpretation I made and I wanted to share it :3, I'd also love to hear the thoughts of other ppl on it :3
