Does anyone play Rust on a TV?

I just started playing Rust in December, on console though. I am almost 100% certain that I will be making the jump to PC very soon. I know a guy who builds PCs and he said he could build me one. He also said that my TV would work fine and I wouldn't need a monitor.

I was wondering if anyone uses a TV instead of a monitor. This might be a general PC question instead of a Rust specific question. My TV is about 5 years old and it was pretty cheap, idk if any of that matters. The owners manual is long gone at this point and I have no idea of any of the specs of the TV. It does have a PC input though, so there's that.
