washing hair and wearing it up with fresh double helix??

I just got a double helix on Sunday, it’s my first cartilage piercing(s). They’re externally threaded titanium barbells; they’re relatively long to account for swelling.

I have 3 lobe piercings on each ear, a septum, and a nostril piercing so I’m pretty good at taking care of them by now and I know I heal well- sterile saline 2-3 times a day for the first few weeks until they stop being crusty little bitches, then leave em alone.

I just washed my hair with them for the first time; my hair has been up in a ponytail for the past couple days. It’s a couple inches past collarbone length. However, it kept snagging in the shower and I was trying to be really careful when untangling my hair from it.

How do I prevent them from snagging on my hair in the shower? Also, am I doomed to wear my hair up for the next few weeks? (if so I wouldn’t mind hairstyle tips even though I know that’s not what this sub is for haha)
