DIY or hire a migration agent / lawyer?
Hi all. My husband (36M) and I (35F) are at the beginning of our journey to start our Australian dream. We are both located in the Middle East. I am a teacher by profession and my husband is in the IT field. The process seems overwhelming from the outside looking in. My close friend is a Migration Lawyer in Australia and we are considering her professional service to assist us in the entire process (fees quoted for Skills assessment and general migration is at almost AUD 11,000 and this is only the professional fees alone excluding the fees for the assessment itself). We are ready with the funds and can get our finances in order for all the expenses.
To those of you with the experience of hiring a migration lawyer, would you recommend it?
If we will go on the DIY route, what are the challenges?
Will the timeline be quicker if with a migration lawyer? DIY?
Both my husband and I are very busy at work and might not have the focus to process all the paperwork that might prolong delays to our Australian dream thus looking to hire a professional to assist us. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
