Should I accept the JO? Noticed very obvious red flags from the interview proper
Hello!
Been working for more than a year now sa sales field and my previous company closed down last year. Now, I recently got a JO from a software based company and I haven’t seen the contract yet as per discussion pa lang siya scheduled soon.
However, during the interview I noticed a lot of red flags and it keeps on bugging me na iba yung kutob ko pagkapasok ko pa lang ng office nila (since sa mismong office ang interview).
First red flag ay sobrang tagal ng paghihintay ko for the interviewer dahil may meeting daw siya. I actually don’t mind waiting at all pero I know my limits and sobrang tagal ko naghihintay doon, almost 2 hours. Nakanood pa ako ng k-drama sa netflix.
Second red flag ay the interview was supposed to be on site but it turned out to be me, sitting in a room connecting via online with the help of HR to set up the call for me with the interviewer. I don’t blame the HR manager, hindi rin siya nasabihan beforehand na hindi pala papasok ng office yung interviewer.
Third red flag ay the interviewer told me how the job that I’m applying for, I’d have to sacrifice my social life for the sake of staying on top of the game and track every aspect of the work. The role that I’m applying for ay sales-related field, same position from my previous work. But with my previous work, I’d still get to have a social life and do minimal to no work during weekdays and holidays.
Fourth red flag ay they asked about deployment to VisMin provinces and if I’m amenable to that. I asked kung shouldered by the company ba ang airfare and lodging along with food and transpo, also kung how long ang stay there if ever and I was told na they will have to see pa if coverer yun lahat ng company.
Fifth red flag ay the interviewer was proud to say na very demanding boss siya and wala siyang patience. By the looks of it I can sense na sinisigawan niya ang mga employees niya and can be violent. I appreciate the frankness but I personally think it’s not something to be proud of and to boast about it.
After the interview I left that office pissed off because I cannot believe how I wasted my time and money for that.
A few hours after, I received a call from HR saying that for scheduling ang JO discussion ko with them where they’ll go over the contract and discuss this with me.
The question is, tatanggapin ko ba JO? :( I need money to pay for rent and buy my basic necessities since in my previous work, I haven’t received my separation pay yet (and 13th month din huhuhu jusko 2024 na wala pa rin aasa pa ba ako?)
