Thoughts on a Nissan Xterra for overlanding?
This car recently came up on my radar. I have been looking for an affordable 4x4 manual transmission. I really like OG 90s' Suvs. But 4runners and Cherokees that fit the mold are incredibly pricey, Explorers you can only get the two door, Pathfinders with them are rare, Isuzu trooper and Mitsubishi Montero it's basically impossible to find them where you can row your own gears. Anyhow The xterra has 4x4, you can get it in a manual, It is a little newer than the ones I mentioned earlier, This is before Nissan became an unreliability monster. Also they're cheap a number of decent ones in range of 2K to 6K.
Also I should mention I want to get it for a single trip a 3 month long Baja excursion, mostly sticking to Baja 1000 roads. Curious your folks take?
