rEFInd - booting kernels directly

Is anyone having success directly booting from a kernel using rEFInd? It seems as though rEFInd cannot detect the kernel links that openSUSE has in the EFI parition. Grub is detected fine, and if I copy the linked kernels from /usr/lib/modules to the /boot partition, they are detected with no issues. Am I missing a setting somewhere? I'd like to be able to setup rEFInd so it will detect kernels so that no manual editing will be necessary after every kernel update. Any feedback is appreciated!
