My therapist flossed during my session
So I (44F) had a super abusive and traumatic childhood, and have been diagnosed with PTSD, but have never been able to afford therapy in the past. I finally got decent insurance, and my GP recommended I do trauma therapy. I had a tough time finding anyone taking new patients, but found a guy with trauma experience in my state doing sessions via zoom. Not my first choice, but 🤷♀️. Sessions are also only 30 minutes a week, so not much time to deal with anything real.
So week 3, it's going ok I guess, the guy pulls out a little floss stick and flosses for about 10 minutes of my 30 minute session. It was kinda gross and very distracting. It instantly made me question his judgement in all things. This is my first real therapy, and I have no idea if I am overreacting, but I seriously struggle now thinking why would I take advise from this person? I'm thinking of not going to my next session.
