What is a reliable metric for determining if a movie is "good" now?
After the joke that was Emilia Perez getting 13 Oscar nominations it is pretty clear that Oscar nominations and/or rewards is not a particularly trustworthy metric any longer. Revenue grossed doesn't really seem like a great metric either, maybe enough to determine alright vs terrible, but not good.
What are your thoughts on this? Audience reviews? YouTube reviews?
Edit: "If yOu lIKe iT It iS GoOd" yes thank you very much. Now let me go get every streaming service, go to every new movie in a theater, and watch every movie to exist.... Once I've done that maybe I can help a rando on the internet with some actual suggestions. Obviously it is good if you like it. It is nice to have a starting point to narrow it down a bit.
