Looking for a minimalist approach to saving/investing my money with no fuss

I make around $2.5k a month as a web developer.

My cost of living is $1k a month (includes rent, food, fun).

  • Cheap rent because I share the apartment
  • Cheap food because I cook at home and enjoy it
  • Cheap fun because my fun is based on sports, not alcohol.

I kind of live by the motto "the less you need the more you have".

I have researched about crypto, stock, real estate, ... all of it makes some sense, but it also adds pain points (risk, take care of stuff, taxes, problems...). Actually, I lost some money and time.

I am thinking about storing my wealth (saved money) in the form of cash in different currencies (eur, chf, usd) and that's it. Yes... it loses value over time (really that much?).

As long as I enjoy my work, can pay rent, food and have enough for emergencies, I feel I am financially independent.

I would like to know if someone here has this same approach or similar, and what other ideas they may suggest other than saving pure cash.
