Starting a shipmanagement company and manning agency

Hello! I (27M) was given an opportunity and partnership deal by our principal/owner recently when he visited our ship while we were calling in our home port in Japan to start and establish several companies in the Philippines.

A little background on myself: I am currently a captain onboard on one of their ships, I have experienced working on shore companies as QHSE Superintendent as well as Training Manager on manning companies.

He told me that after my contract here onboard, I should start on the process of starting the company as he wants to have it running asap.

I need your advice on this one. I have no experience in running this type of business. Should I get a Master's degree in shipping business so that I could have some decent amount of knowledge in the industry? Or should I just focus more on a formal MBA?
