My daughter wants to be a neurosurgeon. I think she understands the odds and the amount of work and luck required. But she wants to try. She is in the top 10-15% of her class. Is that even enough? How should I approach that without discouraging her but at the same time being realistic with her odds?
Maybe give her some books about the subject? Do you recommend any? Should I encourage her to have some clear plan Bs? What would be a common plan B for aspiring neurosurgeons who do not make it?
