Swim lanes on the West side.

Hello, I love to swim laps but dont want to get a membership with the Princeton Club based on previous reviews I've read. Do folks have some recommendations on locations that have available swim lanes? Or how viable is freshwater lake swimming and where when the weather warms up a bit?
