"No one asked for Mufasa"

This argument is just funny to me; not only is it not true since TLK fans have been asking for a Lion King prequel movie since forever, but it's also bad faith when it comes to discussing media. If we're deleting movies that "no one asked for," then we will be deleting almost 60% of Hollywood's entire library. No one asked for a movie about Lions with a Hamlet storyline like the original 1994 movie either.

Mufasa is underperforming not because "nobody asked for it," it's because the TLK brand has been tarnished by the 2019 remake, and the remake's reputation damaged Mufasa despite actually being a decent movie. The Mufasa movie has improved a lot from the remake, but even despite that, the grudge against TLK19 is still felt.

And again if we're removing movies that "no one asked for" most of the movies you enjoyed will be gone, this is a bad faith argument if you're discussing media since film is about bringing in something new, and Mufasa told a story that is completely new and different from what people expected.
