Curious about leftist ideology

Hi everyone. I’ll try to keep this short & as pain free as possible. Until last year, I had no real interest in politics. Now, I feel like the balls rolling one way or another & there’s no turning back. Change is going to happen & I feel like it’s going to get worse. That being said, I would like to be more involved & engaged, but I’m still very new to all of this. It wasn’t until last night that I realized what antifa stands for & that the left has been wrongly accused of being terrorists. I know that sounds ignorant, but it is what it is. That being said, I’d like to start by educating myself. Can you recommend your top 3 documentaries, books, and political figures (past & present) that you feel really define the leftist ideology?
