How to find local jewelers

I want to build an engagement ring for my girlfriend from scratch. That means I buy the raw materials and use my own hands to create this jewelry. Like Mike Boyd and many others on YouTube; I want this for her and I’m dead set on it. I know it’ll cost a lot of money and time but I have that so it’s worth it.

Option 1 is I buy the tools and do it in my garage which isn’t ideal. Option 2 is I commission a local jeweler to teach me through the process using their tools which is more preferable.

So my question, how do I find these local jewelers? What do I need to Google, what hidden website is there, what phone book am I missing? Everytime I search local jewelers I get the basic Google result “Kay Jewelers” or “this is a mom and pop shop that only fixes rings not makes them” and it’s frustrating because I see alllllll these YouTubers with small businesses so I know these small businesses are out there on etsy but how do I find them? (I already tried the Etsy local artist thing and is useless, I’m willing to drive to a bigger city for this)
