I rewatched Crystal skull and wants to talk about it

First of all, this is not a bad movie. A bad indiana jones movie but not a bad movie, it's a pretty mid one. (I know I will be burned alive for this but it's important for what I want to say)

This movie is weird and all over the place but this doesn't mean it's a bad movie because of this. The story is fun and have a fair share of good moments (and also pretty bad ones, I'll talk about it later). Some visuals are honestly really good looking. The score is pretty cool.

And sorry, but the Aliens doesn't bother me at all, it work for the most part in my opinion (and maybe it's just because I love the visual of the city being destroyed when the ship start to fly)

And now for the problems

The CGI have not aged well at all (the alien design at the end and the jungle chase being the most obvious exemples) Indiana's son being absolutely unsufferable and annoying And ok, some parts about the aliens are weird story choices (like the magnetic skeleton being really inconsistent during the movie and having no real importance for the story)

And rhe only thing that make this movie a bad Indiana Jones movie is just that all the other movies uses Magic and Religion as explaination, this one is just like "Aliens seems a good idea" and doesn't play with a weird mix of all of this.

I think that a good way for all of this to make sense would have been to play the idea of magic and religion during the movie and reveal that this is just alien tech (and maybe try to fit the other artefacts of the other movies under it at the same time since it's established that the aliens seems to have been all over the world). Not a perfect idea but it would have made better links to the previous movies, giving some explaination on the powers seen before (not needed but it would have been better than this) and it would have played with the codes of the previous movies to make it feel more aligned with them.

I'm probably alone one this but I think this would have helped a bit the movie to use more of what was made before to tell his story
