Questions about New Steam Humidifier (AprilAire 800)
We recently installed an AprilAire 800 steam humidifier to replace our bypass humidifier which wasn't sufficiently humidifying our house. The new humidfiier is working well and keeping most of our house at ~35-40% humidity when set to 35%.
The only problem is that whenever the humidifier starts up, the room directly above the humidifier will have its humidity spike to about 70% for a short time (maybe 5 minutes) and then come back to normal. The windows might briefly fog up and the room might feel damp for that short period and then it normalizes.
Over the course of a day, this might happen 5-6 times. Is this something to be concerned about? Is there anything we can/should do?
