U12t after 2 months

I’ve had the u12t for a while, and it has become one my reference sound. It is truly a iem good for everything, jack of all trades but master of none.

Tuning wise the u12t is a bass boosted neutral with excellent upper treble extension and a mid treble dip. Male a female vocals are dead center, and male vocals don’t suffer from thinness that’s a common consequence of older tuning philosophies. With the m20 module, which I use, there is a generous dose of mid bass fun along with that sub bass rumble, it is warm leaning, but no mud, the clarity of the u12t is one of its legendary attributes.

Technicalities is where the u12t has a calling card. Sheer resolution is a standout, and notes are crisp. The leading edge of notes and the transient attack might jot satisfy some, however, they present a more blunted and softer edge, but the iem is still very fast and resolving. This resolution might not compare to the anole vx, which I also own, but the vx has a sort of ultra intense quality to its resolution that creates fatigue, while the u12t effortlessly delivers detail without feeling like its shoving information down your ear canals with violence.

Imaging is superb. I wouldn’t use the term speaker like lightly, as I think it’s too much of an exaggeration for iems, but the u12t provides excellent center imaging and does well in positional cues to make it probably one of the best imaging iems I tried.

TLDR, the u12t is simply awesome. It’s not the most interesting iem, but I have basically no complaints about it whatsoever (only that the cable is truly horrendous at this proce point). It might get boring after a week of constant use, but it’s an iem I’ll always reach for when listening to new music, and one iem that can reliably play anything on your album. As such, it will be staying in my collection probably forever.
