Mood MkII - Help me not hate this

Brand new. Been playing it for a few hours. The right foot switch doesn't want to engage... The basic functions are kind of underwhelming and so far I can't stand the way the looper catches phrases. I know this thing must do amazing things, so someone shoot me some settings or tips or something.

It's seeming more like a pedal you play instead of a pedal you play through.. thoughts?
