Season 3 Predictions

Here are some predictions I have for season 3 after rewatching the show. I wanted to share them here and see what other people think, and if you have any please share them as well! Also I’m sorry it’s so long, I just really wanted to write everything out properly.

  1. Georgia’s arrest itself will not be a major plot point in the season. I think it will be similar to the season 1 ending, where Ginny and Austin running away was left as a huge cliffhanger … but at the start of season 2 it’s basically revealed they ‘simply’ went to Zion and Georgia was okay with it when she found out, and they returned back to Georgia and went on as ‘normal’ at the ending of the very first episode after. I think this, because a picture from the set leaked early in filming last year of what appears to be Paul and Ginny picking up Georgia who was still wearing her wedding dress, which made me think Georgia will be bailed out like a day after the wedding. I don’t see there being a trial, as I doubt she’d be let free immediately if there were. However, I do think Georgia’s arrest will make a significant difference to her reputation in Wellsbury and her relationships with friends and family. I’ll elaborate on that more.
  2. Upon being bailed out, Paul fires Georgia from working at his office and is increasingly skeptical of Georgia’s stories and his parents urge him to leave Georgia because the arrest was their last straw, but he’ll be torn because despite being wary and slowly falling out of love with Georgia and considering the impact she’s making on his reputation as the mayor, he still cares a lot for Austin and Ginny and is aware that Gil’s presence and Zion’s occasional absence (due to his new relationship with Simone) may cause issues for them. Georgia will secretly use Paul’s increasing apathy towards their relationship as a personal justification to spend more time with Joe (one of the very few people that will want to listen to her after the arrest) eventually leading to an affair, and plans to seperate from Paul through her own initiative.
  3. During this season, Ginny and Norah’s (and Norah’s character in general) friendship will be elaborated on more. It seems season 1 was mainly focused on Ginny and Max, and season 2 Ginny and Abby finally got closer. Maybe 2 seasons is too few to draw parallels, but I noticed in both seasons during one of the first episodes, there’s a scene of Ginny hanging out at Max’s room (season 1 episode 1) and Abby’s room (season 2, episode 3) and those scenes are very similar, with Ginny walking in and complimenting their room and her and Max/Abby having a conversation about school and their home life. In season 3, we’ll finally get a glimpse into Norah’s household, and her and Norah will be hanging out more frequently, as Max and Abby will be wrapped up in their own storylines. Norah will eventually have an important storyline involving her relationship with Jordan, that will force MANG to unite once again in order to properly support her, but Ginny will be the first one to help her due to their growing friendship at the start of the season.
  4. Ellen will completely cut Georgia off again after hearing details about Georgia’s arrest and her criminal past, and this time around simply apologizing to Ellen will not be enough, and Georgia is going to have to do something really meaningful for Ellen to make it up to her. In the meantime, Max and Marcus continue their friendship with Ginny, but secretly, as Ellen will ban them from hanging out at the Millers, weakening Max and Ginny’s friendship as they only see each other at school and Max is too occupied with her developing relationship with Silver, but strengthening her friendship with Marcus as they will both be joining a poetry class allowing each other to see each other more frequently and they discover a skate park (as seen in recent pictures from the set) where they’ll hang out as well. But a member of the poetry class, named Wolfe, will prevent them from getting into a romantic relationship again.
  5. Abby’s parents finalize their divorce, which causes a lot of sadness for Abby. But due to Ginny and Norah’s growing friendship, Max’s developing relationship with Silver which takes up all her time and an extremely distant attitude from Samantha (who’s embarrassed after Abby overheard her purging in the final episode), she falls into a cycle of suffering in silence once again. She ends up getting into a relationship with Press, not because she’s genuinely in love with him, but because he’s the only person that’s there for her albeit in his own twisted ways. But that relationship will not be enough to comfort her, and due to a lack of support Abby ends up doing something impulsive as a cry for help that will be a huge shock and wake-up call for many.
  6. Hunter starts dating Padma after discovering they get along and partly also because of peer pressure from Max and Norah, but it won’t last long because Hunter will realize he’s not over Ginny yet, which Padma takes immediate notice to and be graceful about, encouraging him to be true to himself and open up to Ginny about that. Meanwhile, Max and Silver get into a proper relationship at last, much to the jealousy of Sophie, who attempts to sabotage theirs multiple times and ironically fulfills the role of Max winning Sophie back the previous season this time around. But Max and Silver’s love is too strong, and they will humorously tackle all attempts at ruining their relationship.
  7. Zion and Simone get engaged, which Georgia is shocked, but due to her growing feelings for Joe also weirdly optimistic about, and Ginny is happy as well but can’t help but feel increasingly resentful to Zion’s sudden desire for a family life, reminding her of what Zion promised her back in season 1 and his absence throughout her life generally. She puts on a happy face and congratulates them, but brings this matter up with her therapist, who eventually asks Zion to come to a therapist session in which more about Zion’s life will be revealed as opposed to Georgia’s and the effects it’s made on Ginny.
  8. Georgia slowly builds back a good reputation in Wellsbury upon breaking up with Paul and some time passing since the arrest, by getting another job that is of much importance to the citizens of Wellsbury, making up with Ellen by doing something really meaningful for her that the entire town will take notice to, helping out at school with events like Prom (similar to Sophomore Sleepover) and being a huge source of comfort to Abby’s parents upon Abby’s storyline and to Norah during her storyline. Nick will confront her after a whole season of ignoring her and even they will resume their friendship again. PI Cordova however is still determined to get her despite the failed arrest, but Georgia has reached a point where there’s nothing he could possibly do or twist about her, leaving him frustrated and on the edge of simply giving up.
  9. As the end of the school year nears, Ginny has to start thinking about what she’d like to do afterwards, and is reminded of what Lynette (Ginny’s paternal grandmother) told her during the Christmas episode (‘if you ever need anything, just give us a call’), and reaches out to her in the hopes she might be able to help her navigate being let into a prestigious university, which Lynette enthusiastically agrees to and invites Ginny to come to visit her and her husband for a while during the summer holiday, which Georgia allows. Meanwhile, the Bakers will visit their summer house so they won’t be in Wellsbury either.
  10. Gil took advantage of Georgia’s arrest to take custody of Austin, but failed due to Georgia’s arrest being short-lived, leading him to wait the entire season long for the right opportunity to kidnap Austin instead. He ends up attempting to do it and succeeding immediately when Paul and Georgia break up. Due to Georgia and Paul’s breakup, leading Paul to cut all contact with Georgia and her family, Georgia confides in Joe and begs him to help look for Austin as Ginny is gone (and she doesn’t want to worry her during her trip to her grandparents), strengthening their developing relationship.
