What’s the best mid-game armour?

I’m about 50% through (maybe a bit less)

I’ve just unlocked the Sakai armour, and obviously have the samurai clan armour and Gosakus armour.

I can’t find myself swapping from the Samurai clan armour though. The damage reduction and resolve gains are very handy. I don’t switch to Gosakus armour because I don’t find myself staggering enemies often, mostly parrying.

The Sakai clan armour stand off streak perk is a bit meh also, as I tend to just wade in on my horse.

It’s completely possible I may be playing the game wrong, but damage reduction and resolve gains seem way better perks than two armours you get later on. Am I right in thinking this?

Or is there another armour I can unlock atm?
