would i get in trouble? (PLEASE READ BODY TEXT)

hello! a genuine & very weird question for yall.

my friend is considering giving me their fursuit as it does not fit them anymore, however im concerned because the suit has dreadlocks.

would i get in trouble for owning this dude as someone who isn't poc? he was originally supposed to be a pirate themed character but i do not own any pirate themed attire.

is there anyway i can remove the dreadlocks without damaging the suit? I JUST DONT WANT TO GET IN TROUBLE PLEASE BE MINDFUL !!! thank you :)
