MR. JONES

(2014) 84min on YouTube and Prime

A young couple moves to a cozy house in the woods to pursue their photography and documentary film careers, but they soon find their nightmares and reality colliding. Who is Mr. Jones?

🎶 “Mr. Jones and me…” 🎶

So this is NOT a movie about the Counting Crows 😝, but rather a mind bending hybrid FF film that was quite a ride! It’s part FF film, part Mockumenary, part fever dream, and part psycdelic trip. The two main actors have been in quite alot of shows and movies (I remember Sarah Jones from the short lived TV show “Alcatraz”) so the acting was very good and believable.

The story and cinematography remind me of Cosmic Horror/Lovecraftian, David Lynch style, “Evil Dead”, “The Endless”, “Coherence“, “Horror in the High Desert series” and even “The Outwaters”. All movies and genres I really enjoy.

It defintely will put your mind to work and make you think and analyze what you just watched. It starts off in a relaxing, beautiful and scenic setting but certainly doesn’t end that way!

A very unique FF hybrid movie that I quite enjoyed. I’m sure this is another one of those divisive movies that some viewers did not enjoy.
