books where no one important dies
i’m having a hard week and i want to read a book where i don’t have to worry about anyone dying after i’ve gotten attached to them :) and where the ending is just plain happy :) even if it’s unrealistic.
the problem is i don’t usually enjoy books labeled “cozy fantasy.” i need there to be conflict and stakes to stay interested. i like a good tragic back story. i just… also want to know that things will ultimately be fine so i can read stress-free. like ACOTAR, {villains & virtues}, or avatar: the last air bender levels of coziness. less cozy than {radiance by grace draven}, more cozy than {the cruel prince by holly black}. anyone picking up what i’m putting down?!
i usually enjoy a lyrical, literary style of writing; my favorite book is {strange the dreamer by laini taylor}. but i also have almost read SJM’s entire catalog so … i’m open!
(i also have been meaning to read more v.e. schwab so if anyone could tell me if any of her books fall into this category i’d appreciate it)
