Can I continue to refill my eyelashes? Allergy or not? In need of your advice!
Hello everyoneI've been having an eyelash extensions on and off for about 2 years. However, a couple of month ago, it seemed that I've developed an allergic reaction to the glue. Tried to change several eyelash ladies in different, well known, professional salons with long and solid experience within the field.. No luck. The last three times, after I would get my eyelashes done, I would get an itching sensation and a red eyelid towards the evening or the next day. I've also noticed that the rim of the eyelid feels a bit scale-like.
However, after about 4 days, the itchiness seems to calm down and not return for the most part of the day, if it all, and redness has completely gone as well. So this makes me puzzled. Is this really an allergy? Can I keep having them re-filled or will the allergy get worse (it did not feel worse every time, just the same)? Should I be taking a really long break?Maybe some useful details: I have never had any kind of allergies to anything at all. I do take care and wash the extensions well. An interesting fact: as luck would have it, every time since the allergy showed up, I was in a state of having flu (some annoying virus or something around that would get me sick with cold several times in a row) - could that be related?
I just feel so desperate. even tho this might sound incredibly silly. I love them so much and for my average face they do a lot! Just hands down a game changer. I have tried to switch to the usual false eyelashes, but setting them on every morning and having glue sometimes properly stuck in the lashes roots once getting them off - just no, I guess I just cannot be friends with those lashes at all =(thank you in advance/sad me.P.S something just hit me: when it itches, I of course try to rub the eye, but sort of on top of the eyeball, so I try not to disturb the lashes, who, of course, would still fall out a bit. So maybe it is just some spot on my eyelid that is annoyed with the glue and once the eyelash has fallen off it, it calms down for good?

(Fireguard I'd move an update here for people to see it better)
Righto, an update!
Basically I found the remedy. On Monday, two weeks ago I was going for my filling, I bought myself a Cortisone cream (10 mg/g ) which can be bought at the pharmacy (at least here in Sweden) after reading another Swedish girl blog, who had exact same problem as me.
As expected, after filling up my eyelashes on Monday, Tuesday morning same eye as always was a little bit swollen. I used the Cortisone cream and it calmed down. I proceeded with the same "routine" for the three or four days: once the eye would start itching and/or become a bit reddish/swollen, I would apply the cream and everything would calm down rather fast. Sometimes I had to re-apply it within half the day, sometimes it was enough to use it just once.
Towards the weekend everything has calmed down for good (Just as it happened to me after my previous eyelash sessions) . Now, two weeks later I do not get any symptoms at all and thus, not using the cream at all. Though I am questioning a bit if I want to go on with filling up the eyelashes or not, as my body clearly not very happy with the glue.
TLDR:
Allergic reaction returned, it was not worse, Cortisone creme helped, everything is fine now. Do I want to keep doing it? Not sure.
