eGPU setup suggestions for Asus TP412UA

I have an Asus TP412UA who's specifications are as follows:

Processor: Intel i5 8650U w/ UHD 620 iGPU

RAM: 12GB (4GB Soldered + 8GB expanded) @ 2400MHz

Storage: 1TB NVMe SSD

This laptop came with an I/O which is not very compatible with docks, but here's the specs of it:

  • 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
  • 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C
  • 2x USB 2.0 Type-A
  • (Others are not relevant)

But it also came with 1x M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0x2 slot on the motherboard, but I have no idea about the mPCIe slot which the Wi-Fi module uses.

With this given setup,

  1. How can I use an external GPU?
  2. What are the trade-offs if that is possible?
  3. Are there any limitations to what GPU I can use? If so, what are they?
