Stability Terminology

I’ve had some discussions recently about the terminology around stability, which got me thinking. From my experience over the years, when referring to an overstable disc people say the disc is very stable, pretty interchangeably. I’ve gotten some pushback from people saying that a disc is “stable” when it flies completely straight and it’s incorrect to call something stable if it fades at all. If I see someone throw a 350ft shot dead straight, no turn/fade just dead straight, nobody would ever say “wow that disc is stable”. I understand the thought process and I would agree by definition but this isn’t how I’ve heard it used by anyone really. I’m open to being wrong, I’ve just quite literally never heard anyone argue this until now. What are your thoughts?
