Please don't forget to sync and backup your browser data

On a Monday!

Well you all probably guessed what happened from the title but anyways, here's a short background.

I use Brave browser for my personal and professional work. Have been since last 3 years. I had setup multiple profiles for my use, probably 100 bookmarks, 10 groups (especially nowadays since interview prep is ongoing).

Now brave has been asking me to update the browser since quite a while, so innocently, during my lunch, some of my stars misaligned and I clicked on 'Update' button.

Rest is history, restarted the browser, lost all my profiles, all my bookmarks and passwords. RIP

Did some research on the internet and there is a bug with chromium update which can lead to some race condition removing all profiles, so in a nutshell, f**k my life. I removed Brave in anger and installed Vivaldi now. Have also setup a sync now and will write a script to backup AppData later in the night.

So you all do it too and save yourself from my fate.
