Well sh*t
Hi guys! Absolute newbie here to the covid long hauler sub 🤟🙂 annnnd…I am pretty sure you all are my tribe. 6 months post covid I started to have WEIRD things happen. It got worse over the past few months and fluctuates every few days or so it seems.
Does this sound like long covid? (normal EKG, blood labs and brain mri)
- neurological symptoms (a few different types of vision changes across time, finger weakness and shakiness, involuntary muscle spasms/tics/flinches of neck/abs/arms/thighs pretty much any muscle randomly at any time, increased sudden jolting flinching reaction to sudden noise/visual stimuli to the point my arms raise a bit and my whole body flinches and sometimes I say “ah!” out of nowhere, feeling tingly nerves behave like a fluid which starts at top of head and flows down my face into shoulder and arm, sometimes feeling like my legs are 3x earths gravity while laying down)
- heart rate jumps 40bpm from laying down to standing up
- weird pain in neck arteries
- absolutely tired/zoinked throughout the day even if I got 9 hours of sleep
- wake up at 1am and stay up till 3 or 4 because ???
- not eating as much
- feeling skin(?) (on left peck right where heart is) throb(?) in pinpointed location synchronized with heart beat? and feels like heart is working extra hard? (even when relaxed, drinking tea and doing a puzzle) sometimes with a weird pain sometimes not. Almost feels like something is there that’s not supposed to be there, something small ish, and the location of the feeling changes when I rest on my side (?)
- pain in joints when I use them. Any joint at all. I did downward dog yoga pose for a minute or so and after returning back to normal position my toe joints felt like they were broken and falling off my feet. Pain went away fairly quickly. For instance though, after typing this whole post out on my iPad, my finger joints are killing me.
- my brain feels more slow than usual??
- this might be unrelated, but wobbly cervical spine with neck pain to the point I got a neck brace? I yanked on my neck in the middle of the night while half asleep and the pain has been not as bad. Comes and goes it seems now more mild than originally?
- trouble swallowing. I’ve had trouble with this due to anxiety since I was a small child. Though, more recently even when not anxious whatsoever I will be swallowing a bite of food, and it won’t go down my throat all the way so I have to double swallow and drink water. Not always but seems to becoming more frequent? I think?
I might be missing some things but this I think is the gist.
For context, I am 24 years old—normal healthy-ness. Two weeks before covid I ran a half marathon (I did not train at all and barely finished in time before they closed the finish line, but I mean I try to be semi-active and try new things even if they feel impossible)
But yeah..
These things never used to happen!!!! I am a violin performance major at university, and I have had to stop playing violin!!!!! Because of this stuff!!!! I feel I am becoming a sea cucumber!!!!!!! 🥒
Like even right now as I’m typing this, weirdly, the left side of my face and left arm got real numb and tingly and my heart has that weird localized sensation.
I REPEAT THESE ARE ALL NEW SYMPTOMS THAT ALL STARTED HAPPENING ONE AFTER ANOTHER AT RANDOM WITH NO RHYME OR REASON
thanks for reading, I honestly hope y’all are like “yup classic long covid!” because at least then I’d have actual answers and reasons for it all. Driving me mad these days. It’s literally 3:39am and I’ve been up since 1.
Thanks again!!
