Uhhh can some of y'all moderates talk me down?
First off, I'm not moderate, I'm a Leftist. That being said I have never been someone to dehumanize anyone based on their beliefs and am always open to civil conversation even when the viewpoints don't align with my own.
Um, so shit looks like it's gone off the handle. From where I'm sitting it sure looks like Trump is talking about annexing Canada and Greenland, Rubio is threatening troops on the ground in Panama, and the Defense Secretary said he wouldn't rule out military action in Mexico. Before this election I distinctly remembering Conservatives wanting to not be involved in ANY wars and wanting to focus on the issues at home (that's what they were saying anyway). So I checked out what some prominent Conservatives on X were saying and read the comments... Jack Poso posted a map with Greenland and Panama with a US flag, Greg Abbott said Canada better watch out, and I saw dozens of others cheering Trump's 51st state suggestion. 😬
Okay... That's... Worrying. I literally thought MAAAAYBE the Left is exaggerating a tiny bit. I knew he was going to be trouble but 12 days in it can't be THIS bad, right? But yeah, conservatives are like YEP that's what is happening and we are proud of it.
So moderates. Any explanation? Are we really just going to goose step into war with our closest ally, let Elon throw a coup (Treasury access, etc), and hold federal agencies hostage? Or...? Just trying to have a dialogue here because my head is spinning.
