Tips for taking scared cat to the vet?

This is Valerie, she's 8 months old, I adopted her on the 27th December from the local shelter.

She's a very scaredy cat and it took lot's of effort and patience for her to trust me and my partner. She's a runner, but you can see she likes receiving pets, she purrs and sleeps with us. But she always seems very scared and runs away from us if we try to get close to her at random moments.

I'm taking her to the vet for a vaccine in Feb 3rd, I was wondering if you have any tips for making this as stress free as possible for her? I wouldn't want this to take away all the progress we've been making with her.
