My brother who has no college degree recently tried telling me that earning $60k/yr or more is “very hard to achieve.” ?

On a scale from BS to True, where does his argument lie? Statistically, Bachelors degree holders earn $60k on average. I’m sensing his argument was biased, being based on his own circumstances of both not having a bachelors and also never having earned more than $50k/yr.
