Jaws and The Shining - Comfort movies that aren't supposed to be comfort movies

I just watched Jaws again as homework for the pod. An absolute masterpiece, obviously, but also a weirdly comforting movie. And funnily enough another movie I find really cosy is The Shining.

Is this normal or am I just a sucker for seasonal family-horror films from the 70's? And do more films fit the bill?
