Tiny gripe with the gig…
As much as I’m excited for this and know it’ll be an absolutely amazing, once in a lifetime experience, the whole thing feels very “American”. I understand the whole nu metal thing is a callback to the Ozzfest days, but aside from Gojira (as far as I’m aware? correct me if I’m wrong!) and obviously Sabbath, every single artist or band is American and very mainstream at that. There doesn’t feel like there’s many of Sabbath’s contemporaries or bands of a similar era, like they couldn’t have asked Rob Halford or Bruce Dickinson to make an appearance? Or any doom metal groups heavily inspired by Sabbath like Electric Wizard? I don’t know I might just be being a bit analytical, but it feels more like a bunch of Tom Morello’s friends and contemporaries than any of Sabbath or Ozzy’s.
