My take on Evil in Baldur's Gate.
I've seen people comment on how the evil in BG 1&2 is only about being a maniac killer who is sometimes mean instead of the sadistic, cold and "Professionals have standards" evil that everyone has a boner for.
I never understood that feeling, since the game is about a child of Bhaal, the literal GOD OF MURDER
It's not difficult to understand, your blood demands murder, that taint of Bhaal loves death and that's why Sarevok wanted a war between Baldur's Gate and Amn, Of course the evil is about being a Psychotic Killer, of course it's about Incite the rage, the hate that people feel so you can create even more death, BECAUSE IT'S ON YOUR BLOOD!
Of course the good side is more "rewarding" they intended for people to play to try to FIGHT against the taint on your soul, to deny Bhaal of rising back up, to not let the evil of your heritage to take over you
Of course, they may just have made the evil this way because they didn't know how to write it, but I prefer to think it was all intended.
